About Me

I am insatiably curious with the realms of imagination and creativity. I was the kid caught drawing all over my schoolbooks, signing up for every kind of art endeavour, self-taught computer graphics and 3D animation in my teens, and taking summer jobs at a graphic design firms in my hometown Caracas, Venezuela. My childhood hero was Leonardo DaVinci, his drawings and visionary approach to recreating the observed world inspired me to pursue a creative career at the intersection of 'arte e ciencia', what now call design.

My other passions revolve around movement and adventure. I practiced various team sports and spent a lot of my free time in my teen years free and scuba diving in the ocean. My parents were always up for adventure, and we explored much of Venezuela’s wilderness, I had the chance to experience of hiking, camping, spelunking, and mountaineering.

I discovered Mountain biking, Snowboarding, Trail Running, and Climbing in my years in New England. Eventually landing my first design job in a startup outdoor brand with a promise to redefine the tent market, called Nemo Equipment. I was the first employee and wore every possible hat, absorbing the genius of the founder Cam Brensinger, while helping deliver the first collection of tents along various other projects including ice axes, accessories, and Mars Biosuit design concepts.

Subsequently, I joined Reebok in Boston, MA, then Manchester, UK, and Barcelona, Spain. Leading design for Reebok Classics apparel and collaborating with the global footwear team on various brand moments. My time at Reebok/Adidas Group enabled me to live and work across different offices, for different regions, and working with suppliers across the globe. These experiences deepened my appreciation for working with different cultures, researching different markets, and leading projects across complex global supply chains.

In Barcelona I began deepening my interest and practice of Yoga. Over the years I have had the opportunity to study continuously with many teachers from different disciplines completing various trainings and workshops and began teaching in 2022.

While at lululemon, I co-founded a grassroots movement to increase awareness and implement employee led changes to the environmental footprint of the Vancouver Headquarters. We launched various campaigns to reduce and eliminate single-use plastics across our facilities and collaborated with our waste management partners to identify focus areas and track progress over time. We also worked with local businesses to provide incentives for employees to bring re-usable container and buy from local zero-waste partners.

I currently live and play in Vancouver, BC with my life's love Sandra Jara. When we are not practicing yoga or making chocolates and bread you will find us on long philosophical walks by the beach or in the forest.
